Mixed Media
My mixed media artworks often start with a washy, drippy under layer followed by tonal work with oil paints. This is embellished with papers, textiles, found objects and pieces of old books (poems, maps etc). Final embellishment with metal foils, embroidery or gel pens. The mediums carry as much meaning as the message.
This large A1 artwork is an artists impression of a cross section of a River Red Gum tree. Located near McLaren Flat this tree is part of an Ecotrail. All of the colours except the gold and green are hand made eco dyes sourced from plants. Available for sale as a framed print.

The sea, the bird and me... This 40 x 40 cm mixed media artwork speaks of my connection to the beach. In this drawing I am uncoloured and overlapped with the bird, this is intentional and describes how I feel at one with the bird but quite separate from the environment.
