Mexican Gods Eye textile art 2

Mexican Gods Eye textile art for 9-16 year olds. Gods Eyes originate in Mexico by the Huichol people who used them for prayer and protection. They are a great way of learning about other cultures and a good example of how textiles connect people across time and places. Kids aged 9-16 years will love making these simple textile artworks in colours of their choice. They will make 1 medium sized Gods Eye each, and tassels or pompoms can be added. They can also make some in miniature for jewellery, bag tags or decorations, time permitting.

Printmaking Workshop for Kids

Kids will create a reusable rubber or foam board printing block, and make personalised cards, decorations, gift tags or a mounted picture.

Kids aged 6-16 will use Ezycarve and carving tools (older participants) or foam board (younger participants) to create a reusable printing block. They will then experiment with a range of coloured, non-toxic, washable printing inks to print by hand, original cards, gift tags, decorations or a picture mounted on mat board. They will take home their completed prints and the printing block.
